Lincoln Memorial

Some pics of the Lincoln Memorial.

Girls and Snow

The girls climbing a snow hill in Washington. We have no shortage of snow at home, but they liked this hill better.

Pollie

Annie giving Pollie, her stuffed polar bear, a ride; and giving him a feather hat.

Washington Monument

Some pics of the Washington Monument.

Snack

We stopped for some snack time while in Washington.

Movies, too

I got a youtube account, and put up a video of Zoe goofing around. You can find it at www (dot) youtube (dot) com/helloorangekitty
We might put up another one eventually. Videos take a while.

Danger Mouse

So it turns out Orange Julius is not a good name for this cat. So, it is now Orange Julia, or OJ. She is pregnant. If you know someone that wants a kitten let me know, and I will work out a delivery plan inside the contiguous United States. By the way, the mouse escaped and has a tale for the grandchildren.

Tracks mystery solved

So, it looks like the mysterious tracks mentioned earlier were not from a chupacabra, but a squirrel. These tracks are pretty similar, and they are from the roof. The roof is a place where we have seen squirrels in the past.

Snow Fort Man

Snow Fort Man is suffering from heat stroke. It has been getting in to the mid-30s, and is in the 40s today.

Rock Stars

Just like in the song by Nickelback, Zoe and Annie want to be rock stars.

Zoe Dancing

This is an old one of Zoe dancing.

William

This is an old picture of William I found on the old camera.

Annie

Annie at a tea party, and in a parade.

Door to Nowhere

We got bored while we were trapped by the snow. So, we took the walls down in the piano / fireplace room. Inside the wall we found this door. If it was in use, it would lead to the couch. We do plan to put walls back up.

William

A couple pics of William.

Tracks

So, one set looks like bunny tracks, the other is a mystery. Jen says raccoon. Tim says chupacabra.

The 11th

This is as big as the snow got. One of these is the tops of the fence around the garden, which is about 30 inches hight. And there is one of the pool. You can figure out the rest.

Second Big Snow

These are from the 10th. It snowed a little more after these were taken.

Bunny Hat

Annie fixed Jen's bunny up with a special hat, and a cover for its candy cane stick.

Orange Julius

Jen found this cat, which Tim has named Orange Julius, after the first big snow. It could not get out of the way of the car because the snow was too high on the sides of the road. We have not yet located its owner. Its fate is undecided. Fell free to vote: 1) Keep, 2) take to shelter, 3) release it back where it was found.

First Big Snow

Well, the first time around it snowed a lot. I think about 20 inches. Then it kind of looked like this.

Snow Man

Well, the girls called this a snow fort, then a snow man. Then a snow fort again. This was the day before the first big storm.

The Band

Zoe and Annie were setting up their band to start a tour.

The Sun

The girls got body crayons and set Tim up with an awesome picture.

Snowman

You can make a snowman like this one without getting cold.

It goes with this story: Imagine this converstion--
Tim: I would like a cake like that.
Jen: Do you want one? I will make you one. But it's a fondant frosting, it does not taste good.
Tim: I want one.
Jen: OK, I'll make you one.
(days later)
Tim: I thought you were going to make me a cake.
Jen: Do you want one? I will make you one.
Tim: I want one.
Repeat for three years. Until now. This is the cake that broke the cycle. It was tasty.

Snow

The record snowfall amount for the month of December was broken in one day. There was quite a bit of snow. I don't know if we needed two snow days and a late start for it, but that is the way it was.

Christmas

Santa got rid of a LOT of stuff at our house. Notably, no sign of a Mitsubishi Evolution.
