We took out the chimney that has not been used since the house got a second floor in 1920. It was easier than I expected. And we did not find anthing real interesting in there; just a couple pennies and an old notebook.
Zoe found these caterpillars outside and decided to help them feel at home. Since this photo was taken one died and one escaped. I asked the girls if they wanted to let the dead caterpillar outside and Annie said no, because they "have a big responsiblity" to the caterpillars. I thought that responsibility ended with the death of the caterpillar, but apparently this is not the case.
We also found this salamander on the tarp, which we wrapped the leaves in to take them to the dump. The salamander was given to Max and Chloe's dad, Kevin. He set it fee.
Here, the zebra (seen below) had turned in to a giant spring for hiding in. The zebra also was a tunnel, and a tree trunk, and other stuff at various times.
We took a carriage ride in Philadelphia. Got to see some sights, including a really good lock, and a really small car. Plus a street musician. And a pumpkin, which had a whole story that went along with it, but that's .... another story.
Tim was attacked by an alligator in Philadelphia. He came back from the attack and got to hang out with Rocky Balboa. We also got to see the Liberty Bell, a moose, and Barry.
